On Saturday, our family on my mom’s side, got together for the first time in a very long time. A very, very long time. My first cousin’s daughter, Sheena, hosted us in her home. There have been many changes since the last time we were together for something other than a funeral. My mom’s father and brother (my pawpaw and uncle) have passed away. Some of the great-grandchildren have married and have children. Where once we all lived in one small area, we now are spread out in three different states and two countries. Our family dynamic has changed but one thing remains, we still love each other and when we come together it’s just like we were never apart. I think Mawmaw and Pawpaw would be pleased to see their family together, laughing and enjoying each other’s company. With today’s technology, there is no reason not to stay in touch with your family. Family is too important.
Thank you Mike and Sheena for hosting such a wonderful lunch for our family.
(For those who couldn’t be there, we love you and missed you.)
